Katie Taylor began her World title defence with a win over Rim Jouini in the lightweight division and is through to the last-16 in China.
She made a cagey start to the first round, but soon had the measure of her opponent.
The combinations started to flow and she was just too fast. Taylor caught Jouini with a stinging right hand that led to a standing count and she finished the first round 5-1 up.
The Bray woman continued to boss in the second - tying Jouini into the corner and scoring points at will to leave it 11-4.
It was pretty much job done by then and Taylor stayed out of trouble from then on, saving energy for tougher bouts ahead.
The final outcome was 19-6 and an outstanding start to the tournament. She will box in the last 16 tomorrow.
Ceire Smith, who has won two bouts in China so far, will also be in action in the last-16 tomorrow against Poland's Anna Karolina Michalczuk.
