Cavan’s Andrew Murray extended his unbeaten run to 24 fights with a points victory over Blackburn’s Graeme Higginson at the MEN Arena on Saturday night.
Fighting on the undercard of the Amir Khan vs Paul McCloskey, Murray was unimpressive in a 78-75 win against the dogged Higginson.
Murray’s accurate punching meant he was always ahead on the judge’s card and the success moves him a step closer to a potential European title opportunity against John Murray before the end of the year.
Meanwhile, Jamie Kavanagh added another win in the early stages of his career, overcoming English journeyman Sid Razak.
