Willie Casey and Paul Hyland have both made the weight for their EBU Super Bantamweight title fight on Saturday night, with the Tallaght boxer confident of leaving Limerick with the crown.

Casey tipped the scales at eight stone, nine pounds and three ounces.

Hyland weighed four ounces heavier, inside the eight stone 10 pound limit.

The Tallaght boxer believes he is perfectly prepared for the all-Ireland clash at the University of Limerick.

Hyland told RTÉ's Adrian Eames at the weigh-in: 'I’m nice and relaxed as I always would be. I’m just looking forward to the fight. At the end of the day it is a European title, it is a big occasion.

'But I’m not treating it as a European title. That is just a bonus for me.

'I’m in the best shape and mind in my whole career. For my sparring I made sure they were tough, big strong and hard-hitting sparring partners. I’m ready for it.

'I know for a fact I’m going to be the main man in that ring tomorrow night.'

The Dublin boxer is looking forward to the fight and has questioned Casey's lack of experience.

Hyland said: 'At the end of the day it is me against Willie Casey and he is trying to take my number one spot in Ireland and that is not going to happen.

'I haven’t been beaten since 11 years of age up to senior level for an Irish title and I’m not going to start tomorrow night by a Limerick man.

'He has had his opportunities. He did well in Prizefighter, fair play to him. I was asked to do it but I wouldn’t go into it because I was a 12-round fighter not a three-round fighter.

'Fair play to Willie, he went in and fought some tough fights and came out on top.

'He has a good enough record but at the end of the day, two years in the pro game, it’s like an apprentice and you have to learn your tricks of the trade.

'That is what I have done. I worked hard to get to number one contender after six years so I’m going to prove tomorrow why I am number one in Europe.'

Hyland was a late replacement for Kiko Martinez, with Bernard Dunne's one-time conqueror relinquishing the title because of an injury.

Martinez is likely to be at ringside for the fight with the winner having already agreed to defend their title against the former champion.

Hyland believes that he would have to overcome the Spaniard to prove he is the true champion.

'It is interesting he is here. He’s still the champion in my eyes. He is the one that won the belt and had to give it up because of an injury.

'That’s why I’m only treating this as a good Irish fight.

'When I beat Willie and then when I beat Kiko, then I will be saying I am European champion and the main man.'
