Katie Taylor has been named ‘Boxer of the Tournament’ at the AIBA Women's World Championship in Trinidad and Tobago.
The Bray fighter won her third World gold medal on Saturday night, taking an 18-5 verdict over Chinese fighter Cheng Dong. The had to overcome adversity in her semi-final against Queen Underwood of the USA, prevailing by 18-16 after a fraught final round.
She took the 'Boxer of the Tournament' award - voted for by the participants - for the second time having claimed it two years ago as well.
