Katie Taylor recorded one of her most impressive victories of the year after stopping Sandra Kruk in the semi-finals of the European Union Championships in Liverpool on Thursday night.
Taylor forced Kruk into two standing counts before the Polish southpaw’s corner threw in the towel 45 seconds into the opening round.
The 21-year-old World and European lightweight champion will now meet Cindy Orain of France in Saturday’s 60Kg final at the Greenpark Sports Arena.
Taylor, who is now guaranteed at least a silver medal, beat Orain twice last year, recording convincing wins in Hungary and Turkey.
Friday is a rest day at the championships.
