Debbie Rogers is out of the European Union Championships after the referee stopped her contest with French light flyweight Virginie Nave at the Greenpark Sports Arena in Liverpool on Wednesday night.

The bout was halted after Rogers suffered a facial injury.

Despite the reversal, Rogers, who boxes out of the Bray BC, is guaranteed a bronze medal from the tournament.

Rogers’ Bray team-mate Katie Taylor is now the only Irish boxer left in the Championships.

The World and European lightweight champion, who received a bye into the last four, faces Polish southpaw Sandra Kruk in Thursday’s 60Kg semi-final.

Kelly Harrington exited the tournament on Tuesday after losing out to Portugal's Sandra Silva.
