Light flyweight Debbie Rogers, of the Bray Boxing club, got Ireland's EU Championships campaign off to a flying start with an impressive 10-6 win over Sandra Silva of Portugal in Liverpool tonight.
Rogers, who is now guaranteed at least bronze, meets Virginie Nave of France in Wednesdays 50Kg semi final.
World and European champ Katie Taylor, also of the Bray club, received a bye straight into the last four where she will box Polish lightweight Sandra Kruk on Wednesday at the Greenpark Sports Arena on Merseyside.
Light welterweight Kelly Harrington will be in the ring for a quarter final bout against Larisa Rosu of Romania on Tuesday evening.
