Eric Donovan and Darren O'Neill both recorded impressive quarter-final victories at the Zlatko Hrbic Senior Multi-Nations in Zagreb, Croatia.
Donovan, from the St Michael's Athy club, chalked up a 46-24 lightweight victory over Croatian Philip Pavlik and will now meet Serbia's Livbomir Marjanovic in the semi-final.
O'Neill, who has moved up from middleweight to light heavyweight for the tournament, was also in top form, taking the early route to victory courtesy of a third round 20 point rule stoppage of Emil Markic from Bosnia.
O'Neill, who boxes out of the Paulstown club in Kilkenny, will face Croatia's Mate Matkovic in the last four on Friday.
Irish 2008 Olympic Paddy Barnes had been named in a three man Irish squad for Croatia but had to pull out of the tournament as a precaution because of an injury to his left arm.
Looking ahead to tomorrows semi finals, Irish coach Tony Davitt said that they would be quietly confident.
He said: 'Eric and Darren boxed very well and they both produced very controlled performances and they will take a lot of confidence from today's wins going into the semi-finals.'
