World and European lightweight champion Katie Taylor will have her first competitive bout of 2008 in Cork this weekend.
The 20-year-old Irish woman will take on Sweden's Klara Svensson at the Loreto Sport Complex in Fermoy on Saturday night.
Taylor, who is ranked number one in the World and Europe, will step up to light welterweight to face the Swede, ranked number two in the World and number one in Europe.
Christian McMahon, Debbie Rogers, Jodie Simpson, Ciara Noonan, Marsha Halpin and Laura O'Neill will also be in action against Swedish opponents on the Fermoy Boxing Club organised show.
Meanwhile, Ireland will face England in the first of two senior internationals at the Castle Court Hotel in Westport Mayo tonight.
Both nations renew acquaintances at the Sligo Community Centre in Collooney tomorrow evening.
