Argentina born Alejandro Gustavo Falliga has been named as middleweight Andy Lee's opponent for the University of Limerick contest next month.

Unbeaten former Irish Olympian Lee, 23, who will be boxing just a short distance away from his families home in Castleconnell, will meet Falliga, nicknamed 'El Flaco' on Saturday 2 February in what will be 15th pro fight.

Speaking ahead of the bout, Falliga said: ' I know all about Lee and his reputation. When I saw he was scheduled to fight in December I asked my manager to get a fight with him because I want to test myself against the best.

'On that occasion it didn't happen, but thankfully my chance is here now and it is a big opportunity for me.

'You learn from these fights and it was a great experience. I think that will help me greatly for this fight and I'm confident that I can surprise a few people.

Lee is presently in Florida where he is helping Wladimir Klitschko prepare for his upcoming clash with Sultan Ibragimov in Madison Square Garden.

Matthew Macklin, Paul McCloskey, Jason McKay, Michael Sweeney and Ciaran Healy have been included on an exciting undercard at the University of Limerick.
