Unbeaten Irish middleweight Andy Lee stretched his unbeaten record into double figures following a second round knockout of Thomas Hengstberger in Germany.

The Limerick southpaw, now boxing out of the Kronk in Detroit, secured his tenth straight victory - and his second pro win in Germany - after dropping the Austrian 1 minute and 22 seconds into round two in Cologne.

Thirty four year old Hengstberger is twelve years Lee's senior and had won twelve, lost four and drawn two of his eighteen pro fights before last nights scheduled eight rounder.

But Lee, who had been training with world heavyweight champ Wladimir Klitschko in Austria before last night's clash, was always in control and now wants to make his pro debut in Ireland.

He said: 'I am delighted with last night's win. I would love to box at home as I am being constantly asked when I will fight in Ireland.

'Negotiations are continuing and hopefully a date and a venue will be announced in the near future.'
