Irishman Andy Lee boxing out of the Kronk Gym, Detroit, USA under manager and trainer, Emanuel Steward wasted no time last night at the New Daisy Arena, Memphis, Tennessee in disposing of his opponent, Clinton Bonds.

Lee off loaded a barrage of punches to stop Bonds in the first round of the scheduled 8 round fight to take the charismatic young Irishman's record to 9:0.
 
Following the fight Andy commented: ' I've trained hard for the fight, getting the best of sparring with Jermain Taylor and Kermit Cinteron.

‘Competitive sparring has sharpened my game and helped get me focused at the job at hand. I am delighted to add another win to my record.'

Andy Lee and Emanuel Steward will travel to Austria on the 24 May to set up training camp with world heavyweight champion Waldimir Klitschko as he prepares for his title defence against Lamon Brewster on 7 July in Cologne, Germany.

Andy Lee now looks forward to featuring on the undercard of this event.
