Unbeaten Irish middleweight Andy Lee is planning to challenge Irish champion Jason McKay in Dublin in August of this year.
According to Lee, his manager Emanuel Steward and Jason McCann of the Belfast Kronk gym, are in negotiations with Bernard Dunne's promoter Brian Peters for the Limerick southpaw to meet McKay at the Point in Dublin on 23 August.
Lee, who fights out of the Detroit Kronk, is presently in training with world middleweight champion Jermain Taylor in Memphis ahead of Taylor's title defence against Cory Spinks at the Fed-Ex Forum in Memphis on 19 May.
Lee, 22, is due to box in Memphis against Puerto Rico born puncher Angel David Gonzales on 18 May.
He will then go into training camp with world heavyweight champ Wladimir Klitschko in Austria ahead of the Ukrainians IBF/IBO title defence against Lamon Brewster in Germany on 7 July.
The ex-Irish Olympian will box on the Klitschko undercard in Germany against an opponent to be named in what should be his tenth pro fight.
Lee said: 'I'm currently training and sparring in Memphis with Jermain Taylor at his training camp. I'm in good shape and my meeting with Gonzales will be another good learning fight for me.
'I'm looking forward to building my record and gaining from the experience.'
Belfast boxer McKay, 29, has won 17 of his 18 pro fights so far.
