Unbeaten Irish middleweight Andy Lee is confident of recording the sixth win of his pro career in New York tomorrow night.
Lee, 22, goes head to head with New Jersey born Denis Sharpe, 31, at Madison Square Garden on the undercard to the Wladimir Klitschko/Calvin Brock world heavyweight title fight.
Limerick man Lee, who fights out of the Kronk in Detroit, finished up training in the Pocono mountains in Pennsylvania on Wednesday where he was preparing under coach Emanuel Steward.
And the ex Irish Olympian admitted that Sharpe, who was won 17 of his 22 pro fights,is a step up in class.
Lee said: 'Sharpe has been around and he is experienced and this is definitely a step up for me but I never worry too much about my opponents.
'Having said that we have studied videos of him and we have our home work done and under no circumstances am I taking anything for granted.
Lee is also due to fight at the Cicero Stadium in Illinois on 1 December, against an opponent to be confirmed.
Meanwhile Lee has backed Bernard Dunne to beat Esham Pickering in the European super bantamweight decider at the Point in Dublin on Saturday night.
He added: 'I have to go with Dunne on points. I don't think it'll be an easy fight but he's waited a long time for this fight and now's his time.
'I think the home support will be a big factor too, the home fans will give Bernard the extra push going into the final rounds'.
