Bernard Dunne's European super-bantamweight title fight with England's Esham Pickering at Dublin's Point Depot on 11 November will be shown live on RTÉ Two and streamed live on RTÉ.ie to a worldwide audience.

Dunne, who was the star of RTÉ.ie's first ever live sports webcast on 3 April, will meet Pickering for the vacant title after Michael Hunter, who beat Pickering last October, vacated the belt to pursue world title glory following three successful defences.

The Dunne fight will go out live on RTÉ Two and RTÉ.ie and the broadcast will also carry live action from what is expected to be a strong undercard.

Dunne's manager Brian Peters predicts that Pickering, 30, will offer 'the acid test' for the 26-year-old Dubliner, who is unbeaten in 21 fights and has been attracting sell-out crowds in his hometown.

Peters said: 'Bernard has done all that has been asked of him and now he faces Esham in what is his moment of truth.

'It's a great fight for both guys and in effect it is a world title eliminator because the winner will most likely go on to fight for a world title.

'It's a big night for Bernard because he will be bidding to become the first Dubliner to win a European title and fighting at the Point he is following in the footsteps of Wayne McCullough, Steve Collins, Lennox Lewis and "Prince" Naseem Hamed.'
