Irish middleweight Andy Lee will weigh-in at 162 pounds ahead of his professional debut at the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit tomorrow night.
Twenty-one-year old Lee meets Michigan based orthodox puncher Anthony Cannon around 9.00pm local time (2.00am Saturday morning Irish time) at the 20,000 all seater venue.
The former St Francis Limerick southpaw said yesterday that he was eagerly looking forward to the clash adding that he is facing a very busy few months.
On April 22 next he fights on the undercard to the Vladimir Klitschko versus Chris Byrd IBF World Heavyweight title decider in Mannheim, Germany against an opponent yet to be named, and is also due to fight in Detroit in May.
On Monday next he arrives home to Limerick for a short break and then heads to Majorca, Spain on March 20 to go into training camp with Klitschko under coach Emanuel Steward.
Gannon has won his first professional fight- but Lee speaking from the Kronk gym in Detroit, sounded very confident.
"All the talking is nearly over and done with now and I can't wait to get in the ring on Friday night. Gannon is good boxer but I am feeling very sharp and my training has been going very well," he said.
