The Carl Froch versus Brian Magee British and Commonwealth title clash scheduled for the King's Hall in Belfast on March 31 has been postponed.
Froch was due to put his crown on the line against Magee next month but sustained a shoulder injury in his recent victory over Australia's Dale Westerman.
Froch has been ordered by specialists to rest his right arm for another three weeks.
Magee's coach Harry Hawkins believes the bout could still take place at the King's Hall on 19 or 26 May.
"We are disappointed that the fight has been postponed as Brian was eagerly looking forward to meeting Froch in his hometown," said Hawkins.
"Hopefully the fight can go ahead in late May as these are the only dates available for the Kings Hall."
Meanwhile, Froch has admitted that he was disappointed by the criticism he received from some quarters after his less than impressive win over Westerman.
"I want Magee as soon as possible," he said.
"I want to get him out of the way. I believe I can fight at a higher level. Continuing to fight at this standard isn't going to help me. I'm eager to step up and get moving.
"I did think that some of the stick was over the top. That's OK though, it will just make it more dramatic when I take out Brian Magee in style."
