Irish middleweight Andy Lee will meet Canadian Nichalson Poulard in his first professional fight at the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit on March 10 next.
Lee's manager and coach Emanuel Steward, confirmed yesterday that Lee would meet the Montreal based puncher next month.
Steward also confirmed that the six rounder had been pushed forward eight days from its original March 2 date.
Poulard boasts a record of two wins in his first two pro fights, but ex-St Francis Limerick southpaw Lee, is confident ahead of the eagerly awaited clash.
"My training is going very well here at the Kronk in Detroit and I am feeling very sharp and I am really looking forward to this fight," said Lee.
He added: "I don't know a lot about Poulard at the moment but we will be doing our homework in the coming weeks."
Lee's last fight saw him record a comfortable victory over former World and Cuban champion Yordanis Despaigne at the Stadium in Dublin last April.
He was also part of an Irish Amateur Boxing Association dominated Four Nations team that hammered the star studded Cuban selection 6-2 at the Stadium.
According to Kronk supremo Steward, the 21-year-old Limerick man will also fight in Germany against an opponent yet to be named next April.
Steward said: "I think that Andy should be challenging for a world title in about three years maybe sooner it all depends. However, first up is his meeting with Poulard. We are looking forward to March 10 and Andy will also fight in Germany in April and we will identify his opponent soon."
