Monaghan heavyweight Kevin McBride will be honoured for his recent victory over Mike Tyson when Clones Town Council, Monaghan County Council and Clones Festival Committee host a civic reception in his name on his return from Washington DC tomorrow.
The reception is being held on Clones Diamond, on Tuesday, June 28 at approximately 8.00pm.
Tyson retired on his stool at the end of the sixth round at Washington's MCI Center after a desperate performance against the Clones 32-year-old earlier this month. The former World Champion resorted to headbutts and below the waist punches as the fight slipped from his grasp against the towering 6ft 6ins McBride.
