Former World Amateur Championship bronze medallist James Moore has signed professional forms with New York-based manager Stan Hoffman.
The 26-year-old Arklow welterweight, who claimed his first of three National titles in 2001, will travel to America following his final amateur fight at a club show in his home town on Sunday.
Hoffman famously guided Hasim Rachman to a World Heavyweight belt when he defeated Britain's Lennox Lewis in April 2001.
Moore, who became only the fifth Irishman to claim a World medal in Belfast in 2001, will be trained by Tracey Harris Patterson - the son of two-time World Heavyweight champion Floyd Patterson.
He will follow in the footsteps of former Ireland team mate Bernard 'Ben' Dunne - who has won his first 14 pro bouts, boxing out of California.
