Roy Jones Jr has retained his WBC, IBF and WBA light-heavyweight titles after a convincing win over Briton Clinton Woods in Portland. Jones stopped the British, Commonwealth and European champion with a technical knockout in the sixth round.
It was all quite easy for Jones – regarded by many as the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world – as he cruised through the early rounds and upped the tempo in the fifth with a flurry of punches that landed successfully. It all ended one round later as the fight was stopped one minute and 29 seconds into the round.
Jones now boasts an impressive 47-1 win loss record.
