Joe Calzaghe has been forced to pull out of his scheduled clash with American veteran Charles Brewer on February 9. The 28-year-old was to have defended his WBO super-middleweight title for the 10th time at the National Ice Rink in Cardiff but has been suffering from flu, which disrupted his training, and so it was decided to postpone the fight.
The next available date is April 20 although the venue for the rescheduled clash has not yet been confirmed. Thirty-two-year-old Brewer is a former IBF title-holder and is seen by Calzaghe's management team as an ideal stepping-stone to help him break into the lucrative American scene.
