Former German world boxing champion Graciano ‘Rocky’ Rocchigiano has been charged with assault in Berlin after allegations he beat up four police officers. Rocchigiano could face jail if he’s convicted on the charges of assault, injuring police officers and resisting arrest.
The 37-year-old former IBF super-middleweight and WBC light-heavyweight champion was given an eight-month suspended sentence in 1997 after being found guilty of resisting police and verbally abusing officers. He was handed a four-month suspended sentence two years later after being found guilty of driving without a licence.
