According to reports on PA Sport, Mike Tyson's representatives have already been in contact with newly-crowned world heavyweight champion Hasim Rahman about the possibility of setting up a fight. A representative of Tyson's publicists, Adam Grant, told PA that although Tyson had hoped to fight Lennox Lewis later this year, the British boxer's shock defeat to Rahman in the early hours of Sunday morning means Tyson has now set his sights elswhere - on Rahman.
Grant confirmed that Tyson's adviser Shelly Finkel had been in contact with Rahman's promoter in an effort to secure Rahman's next fight. Tyson is the World Boxing Council's number one contender and as Rahman's team have already voiced their preference to host a mandatory defence before granting Lewis a re-match, there is a strong possiblity that Tyson and Rahman could fight later this year.
