Wayne McCullough's clash with Hungarian Sandor Koczek tomorrow night has been cancelled after he had trouble passing a medical. According to a spokesperson for the Northern boxer, he has travelled to Dublin to undergo further tests in the hope that he will be declared fit to box but it seems very unlikely now that the fight will go ahead as Sky Sports, who were to screen the fight as part of a pay-per-view package, have said the fight will not now feature on the bill.
Sky spokesman Chris Haynes said: "Wayne will not be boxing and it is believed to be due to a medical test. The rest of the show will go ahead as part of Sky's pay-per-view event, which includes Mike Tyson against Andrew Golota."
Belfast man McCullough, who is based in Las Vegas, had hoped that victory over Koczek would be the start of his pursuit of a shot at IBF world featherweight champion Paul Ingle.
