Former WBC bantamweight champion and Olympic silver medalist,Wayne McCullough, was today warned that he is in for a major shock when he clashes with Hungarian Sandor Koczak at Belfast's Ulster Hall on Friday night.
Felix Racz, Koczak's manager, believes the ‘pocket rocket's’ bid to claim a second world title will not get off the ground. This is Koczak's big chance to get into the world scene and his manager reckons he can do it. He feels that McCullough may be taking him too easily, maybe thinking he's just there to fill the card.
Koczak comes to Belfast as something of an unknown quantity, though he has a good record of 17 wins and only one defeat, which came when challenging Simon Ramoni for the IBO super-bantamweight title 12 months ago.
It will be Belfastman McCullough’s first fight in his hometown since turning pro after the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona.
