Mike Tyson cancelled his first scheduled public appearance in Britain today ahead of Saturday night's fight with Lou Savarese in Glasgow. Tyson was due to undergo a public workout watched by invited members of the media in his Grosvenor House Hotel training base in London's Park Lane. But his short-notice insistence on a closed session has once again raised questions about Tyson's mental state in his unpredictable build-up to the bout.
Tyson arrived in Britain on Sunday night - four days later than originally planned - because he wanted to attend the funeral of a close friend who was murdered in New York's Bronx. Promoter Frank Warren insisted Tyson looked in great shape on video footage he had watched of the fighter training in America.
