Boxing: Danny Williams on Tyson's undercard

Londoner Danny Williams will sample the power of Mike Tyson first hand when the former World Champion returns to Britain next month. Williams will spar with Tyson before his fight with fellow American Lou Savarese at Hampden Park on June 24 - then appear in the supporting bout on the big Glasgow promotion by challenging Michael Holden for the British title.

His commonwealth crown will also be on the line on a night which promoter Frank Warren insists will be financially the highest grossing sporting event in the country. It will be the second British title attempt for Williams. Thirteen months ago the previous champion Julius Francis had out-pointed him at the Royal Albert Hall, his only defeat in 20 fights.

Williams attributes his sole professional setback to knocking down former WBO champion Herbie Hyde in sparring. It made Williams look for the one major punch to win the title in style.
