MJ Randolph and Brittany Byrd have been named player of the year in the men's and women's Super League for the 2022-23 season.
UCC Demons' Randolph had an outstanding season in the InsureMyVan.ie Super League, averaging 30.8 points per game, while shooting 83% from the free-throw line as the Cork side reached the last four.
It was double delight for the Cork side as James Hannigan was named young player of the year as he proved a significant contributor for Daniel O’Mahony’s outfit, featuring in 20 games including a season-high 18-point performance in their defeat to the eventual champions in the play-offs.
The coach of the year award also ended up in the Rebel County as Ciaran O'Sullivan led Emporium Cork Basketball to their first league title.
The player/coach led his team to a 12-7 record in the regular season, before wins against North Conference champions DBS Éanna, South Conference runners-up UCC Demons and winners University of Galway Maree in the play-offs brought a championship to Ballincollig.
Emporium also reached the final four of the InsureMyHouse.ie National Cup with O’Sullivan checking into 19 games during the campaign averaging 6.3 points per game.

Byrd of The Address UCC Glanmire was named MissQuote.ie Super League Player of The Year following a double-winning season in which she proved a key player throughout.
Byrd lead the league in points scored (514) and points per game (25.7) and picked up the MVP award in their Champions Trophy victory against DCU Mercy, scoring 33 points in the process.
UCC Glanmire's Mark Scannell was named Super League coach of the year for the second year in a row as his side enjoyed an impressive 16-2 record in league play. They also retained the Champions Trophy, dispatching an in-form Waterford Wildcats by 27 points and DCU Mercy by 11 points in the decider.
Ireland international Sarah Hickey picked up the young player of the year award. The Waterford Wildcats player averaged 17.6 points per game and proved a very effective rebounding presence on both ends of the floor.
