Dublin native and NBA prospect Aidan Harris Igiehon has announced that he has committed to playing college basketball with the Louisville Cardinals next year.
The Clondalkin-born Igiehon announced the news on Friday, choosing to play for the Cardinals over the St. John's, Oregon and Kentucky universities.
Igiehon, who plays at Lawrence Woodmere Academy in New York, is ranked at No. 36 in the ESPN 100 best high school players in America and this development in his career brings the 6ft 9' player one step closer to breaking into the NBA.
ESPN also reports that he visited the Louisville college earlier this summer before making an official visit in September with The Cardinals making him a priority recruit.
After first taking up basketball at the age of 12, Igiehon subsequently secured a scholarship with the Lawrence Woodmere Academy in 2016.
