The UL Eagles soared past Moycullen in an 86-56 victory in the latest results for the Nivea for Men’s Superleague.
The first half saw the Galway home team impress with a high tempo game and a change in defensive strategy in hopes of obtaining their first win of the season.
By half-time the two sides were even at 27 points apiece, including a 14-point contribution from Moycullen standout, Cian Nihill.
However, UL Eagles were able to compose themselves at halftime to widen the scoreing gap in the third quarter.
The Eagles were led by Irish International Scott Kinnevane who netted an impressive 26 points in the contest and expressed his relief at his sides’ composure in the second half.
'It took us a the entire first half to get into the game and we let them set the tempo which wasn’t a good thing.' said Kinnevane.
'But the second half was a different story as our expeirence showed in the third quarter and we took back control of the game”.
'The win is the most important thing and we really showed poised today.'
