Killester clinched a clean sweep of trophies following their 74-64 win over UL Eagles to secure the Nivea For Men’s SuperLeague.

The Dubliners followed up their National Cup and Regular Season success with another vintage display which was helped greatly by the performance of ‘MVP’ Michael Westbrooks.

The Eagles got off to bright start through Scott Kinevane before Michael Westbrooks signalled Killester’s intent with a three.

Eagles’ Welsh star Stuart Robbins got in on the scoring act but the impressive Westbrooks ensured the Dubliner giants were tied 13-13 with 4.24 left in the first quarter.

Killester started to show their experience against the final new boys with Jermaine Turner sinking a trademark dunk before contributing a lay-up.

Mark Keenan’s side finished the stronger with a further three points from Pete Madsen ensuring a comfortable 29-16 lead at the end of the first quarter.

Rob Lynch provided some hope for the travelling UL support but Killester were to soon find their rhythm and dominate the quarter.

Killester were scoring at ease with Jermaine Turner causing huge problems for the Eagles defence, quickly building up a 38-26 advantage. Westbrooks and Madsen continued the onslaught to leave 17 points between the sides at half time. (47-30)

Killester were in no mood to let up after the re-start with a basket from Robbie Clarke followed by a three from Paddy Kelly piling on the agony for Tony Hehir’s UL charges.

Matt Hall and Robbins desperately tried to claw back the deficit but another dunk from Turner opened up a 16 point lead with 4.30 left in the quarter.

Glen Wong struck a three on the buzzer but 14 points (60-46) still separated the sides as they faced the deciding final quarter.

Killester continued in the same vein in the fourth, with Jermaine Turner and Michael Westbrooks extending their advantage to 18 points.

Neil Campbell and Scott Kinevane contributed two big three’s to leave UL in with a shout while a basket from Neil Campbell brought the Treaty County to within 13 points of Killester.

UL maintained their comeback despite losing Robbins to a fifth foul but time was not on their side as Killester completed a magnificent treble.

In the Men’s Division One final, Team Garvey’s St Mary’s broke Titans hearts with a last ditch basket from Dan Griffin giving the Kingdom side the crown on a scoreline of 82-81.

The winner followed an excellent three pointer from ‘MVP’ Brian Clernon in one of the most dramatic endings to a league final in recent years.
