There was no shortage of drama in the ESB National Cup final, with Shane Coughlan returning to Cork the hero after making a free throw in extra time to seal a victory for UCC Demons, 83-84. Coughlan was awarded MVP for his outstanding contribution to Demons success. A devastated Star of the Sea must return to Belfast, unable to break their Cup duck and runners-up again for the fourth time.
University of Limerick ran away with the Senior women's Cup title, defeating Waterford Wildcats 48-76. Notre Dame defeated St Brendan's 120-55 for the Junior men's title, while a 60-67 victory over Presentation Thurles, earned St Paul's the junior women's National Cup, their first ever Cup title.
