Despite a valiant third quarter performance, the Irish U16 boys were defeated 62-89 by Iceland and now have it all to do against Finland if they are to qualify to the next round of the European Championships. A devastated English team left the arena earlier in the day, following another close defeat, going down 67-71 to Finland. England are now out of contention for qualification.
The Irish Boys and Girls are back in action this evening, the Boys play Finland at 5pm and the girls against Germany at 7pm.
