Ireland set for Cyprus clash

The Irish basketball team had their first full training session this morning after the remainder of the team flew into Limassol, Cyprus last night. Glenn Sekunda, Adrian Fulton, Tim Kennedy and Billy Donlon joined their team-mates last night and Ireland are gearing up for their fourth game of the European Championships semi-final round.

Head Coach, Bill Dooley is pleased with the team's performance this morning although both Marty Conlon and Tim Kennedy are recovering from 'flu. Glenn Sekunda's first session with the Irish team was positive and everyone else is in full fitness. "They're doing good, they all played well this morning and Sekunda will be a strong addition to the side," Coach Dooley said in advance of the Cyprus clash.

Mike Mitchell did not travel to Cyprus and an injury picked up on Sunday playing with Avitos, now puts him in doubt ahead of the all-important home clash against Bosnia on Saturday. Mitchell is still undergoing tests on his stomach.

Croatia topped Group C of the European Championships semi-final round after the first set of games in November while Cyprus are yet to record a victory.
