The Irish Senior Men's coach Bill Dooley was handed a major blow ahead of the team's trip to Cyprus on Sunday for the European Championships semi-final with the news that Jimmy Moran will not be travelling. The 6'7" forward, who plays for Telecom Canarias in Spanish Division 1, is struggling with an injury and will also miss Ireland's home clash against Bosnia on Saturday January 26.
Former co-captain Dan Callahan will also be missing from the first-leg of the semi-final round as he has club commitments that restrict him from participating. Dooley will also be unable to call on the services of Mike Mitchell but he will be able to travel to Ireland for the Bosnia game.
However, Irish-American Glenn Sekunda will make his debut for Dooley's side in Cyprus and the 6'9" star will be a huge addition to the Irish squad as he excels in both defence and offence and is an accurate outside shooter.
