Sarah Lavin ran a 0.2 second season's best of 12.76 to take third in the women's 100m hurdles at the Golden Spike meeting in Ostrava, Czech Republic this evening.
The 31-year-old finished behind world record holder in the event Tobi Amusan, who broke the tape in a time of 12.45.
Amusan led from the gun, eventually finishing 0.3 seconds ahead of second-placer Viktoria Forster of Slovakia, who had a battle to the line with Lavin and was given the nod for the runner-up spot in 12.74.
Lavin's time is a significant improvement on her previous season's best of 12.90, which she set in Finland three days ago and marks a timely coming into form.
The main target for Irish athletes this year is the unseasonably late World Championships, which take place in Tokyo from 13-21 September.
The next fixture for Lavin is the European Team Championships in Slovenia this weekend, where she will don the Irish vest for the first time this outdoor season in the 100m hurdles and women's 4x100m.
