On we go in Rome as the European Athletics Championships ticks into its fifth day.

On Monday night, Rhasidat Adeleke took 400m silver after being pipped by Poland's Natalia Kaczmarek in a barnstorming battle.

That was Adeleke's second medal of the championships - she was, of course, part of that memorable 4x400m mixed relay gold-winning team.

Today there's more relay action to look forward to.

The men's 4x400m team are first up. Jack Raftery, Chris O’Donnell, Sean Doggett and Callum Baird go in that order for Ireland. Doggett, 17, is making his senior international debut.

Later in the morning, the 4x100m team of Bori Akinola, Mark Smyth, Colin Doyle and Israel Olatunde will attempt to get through their heat.

The women's 4x400m team, which races at 10.27am, is made up of Sophie Becker, Phil Healy, Lauren Cadden and Sharlene Mawdsley. Adeleke is absent after her exploits in the 400m final last night.

In the evening session, two Irish athletes compete in the women's 10,000m final: Anika Thompson and Laura Mooney.
