Irish duo Sarah Lavin and Darragh McElhinney both had top-three finishes at the World Indoor Tour Gold meet in Torun, Poland.

Lavin, who qualified for the 60m hurdles final with a time of 7.98, managed to shave .06 of a second off that pace as she finished third in Tuesday's final in 7.92.

Nadine Visser of The Netherlands claimed gold in 7.80 with Poland's Pia Skrzyszowska .01 of a second behind her.

The result continues a fine run of form for Lavin, who smashed Derval O'Rourke's long standing 100m National hurdle record at the World Championships five months ago.

McElhinney was also in the bronze position as he finished third in the men's 3,000m event.

The 23-year-old set a personal best of 7:39.92 at a meeting in France at the weekend and while he was unable to match that in Poland, his time of 7:54.02 was good enough for a podium finish behind Ethiopian pair Selemon Barega and Getnet Wale.

The World Indoor Championships take place in Glasgow next month, 1-3 March.
