Lizzie Lee set a personal best at the European 10,000m Cup while Hiko Tonosa marked his international debut for Ireland with a 12th place finish in the men's race.

Lining out for her country since running the marathon in the 2018 European Championships, 41-year-old Lee ran a time 33:04.66 to finish 17th in a race won by Eilish McColgan in a time of 31:19:21.

It comes less than a month after she ran a time of 34:14.26 at an Athletics Ireland micro meet in Cork.

Four years after fleeing Ethiopia and a year after securing Irish citizenship, Hiko Tonosa marked his international debut for Ireland with a 12th place finish in the men's race.

Tonosa, pictured above, posted a time of 28:13.10 in a race where eight of the top 10 posted personal bests, with French athlete Morhad Amdouni taking the win in a time of 27:23.39.

Mo Farah missed the chance to book his place at next month's Olympics with an eighth-place finish and now faces a race against the clock to ensure he can post the qualifying time ahead of the Tokyo Games.

He finished in 27 minutes 50.54 seconds and will need to go under 27 minutes 28 seconds by the end of the month to guarantee him the chance to defend his 10,000m titles from 2012 and 2016.

In the men’s international B race, Michael Power ran 30:11.77 to place 23rd.
