Thomas Barr continued his run of good early season form by finishing third in the 400m hurdles at the Stockholm Diamond League tonight.
The race was won by World Champion Karsten Warholm (Norway) in 47.85 seconds with TJ Holmes of USA second in 49.25 and Barr third in 50.28.
Speaking after the race, European bronze medallist Barr said:"I was happy to have secured a third spot, but I wasn’t pleased with the time. The weather was windy and very cold.
"I am where I need to be, consistently racing and producing performances against the World’s best 400m Hurdlers."
Tonight's result follows on from the Waterford man’s third place at the Shanghai Diamond League in 49.41, his fastest ever season opener.
Olympian Barr will next race in the Rome Diamond League on 6 June as he continues to prepare for the World Championships in Qatar at the end of September.
A not so good time in not so good conditions, but racking up some good race practice and diamond league points. Same time again next week we go again! 🙌🏼 https://t.co/gz955y68wQ
