Noelle Lenihan has won a gold medal at the World Para Athletics European Championships in Berlin following a record-breaking morning in the F-38 discus, while Orla Comerford claimed a bronze in the T13 200m. 

The North Cork AC athlete broke the world record twice with throws of 32.28 and 32.95 metres. Her previous record was 32.14m. 

Eva Datinska of the Czech Republic was second on 27.29m, with Latvia’s Ingrida Preide in third place as Lenihan produced a convincing victory.

Comerford got Ireland's second medal of the day when she claimed bronze in the Women's 200m T13 final. 

The Raheny Shamrock runner got on the podium with a time of 26.76 behind winner Leilia Adzhametova of the Ukraine and runner-up Caolina Duarte of Portugal. 

Paul Keogan had to make do with a season's best of 25.20 in the final of the men's 200m T37. 

The Meath man finished in fifth place with Poland's Michal Kotkowski taking gold in 24.10. 

Kildare's Patrick Monahan was also outside of the medals in the 400m T53 final, finishing fifth in 55.99, with France's Pierre Fairbank coming home in first place. 

Greta Streimikyte, Jason Smyth and Orla Barry won gold medals for Ireland yesterday.
