Mark English and Rose-Anne Galligan are heading stateside having been named as Ireland's only participants in the World Indoor Championships in Portland, Oregon.
UCD's English has been selected in the 800m, while Newbridge woman Galligan will compete in the 1,500m at the championships, which run from 17-20 March.
English, who has a seasonal best of 1.46.99, will be hoping to his brace of medals from the European outdoors in 2014 and indoors last year.
Galligan, holder of the national outdoor 800m record, will be hoping to put in a competitive performance over the metric mile, having set a seasons best of 4.11.07 at the Athlone International.
In a statement, Athletics Ireland said other athletes may be added to the squad "depending on the IAAF rankings list".
Meanwhile, Lizzie Lee and Paul Pollock lead the Irish entries for the World Half Marathon Championships in Cardiff on 26 March.
Lee will be the sole Irish woman racing in Cardiff with Fionnuala McCormack set to run in the New York Hald on 20 March before focusing her attentions on the 10,000m.
Pollock, who finished 30th at the last championships in 2014, leads a five-man men's squad and will be hoping to use the race to sharpen up for a tilt at Rio qualification in the London Marathon.
The squad is made up of Kevin Seaward (St Malachy’s), Segiu Ciobanu (Clonliffe Harriers), Sean Hehir (Rathfarnham) and Thomas Frazer (Crusaders).
