Greg Allen got the reaction of Fionnuala McCormack, Lizzie Lee, Caroline Crowley and Ciara Durkan after a third-place finish for the Irish women in the senior race at the European Cross Country Championships in in Hyeres, France.
McCormack just missed out on a medal in the individual event and, while disappointed with that, she was happy in leading the effort to get the team on the podium. The success, she added, was "important and recognises the achievement in a sport where women don't often get the press they deserve."
