Race-walker Colin Griffin has announced his retirement from the sport.
The two-time Olympian, 32, had taken a break from the sport after failing to qualify for last year’s World Championships and has now decided not to return.
The Leitrim man said: "I had sort of half settled on the idea last year but I decided to take a break and just give myself the option that if I did have the hunger to come back, there was no pressure there and I was free to do it.
“But I just knew this summer that the appetite didn’t return and I was happy to finally confirm my resignation and move on to other things.”
