Brian Gregan (Clonliffe Harriers) has secured the needed qualification mark for the European Track and Field Championships, dipping under the standard of 46 seconds when running a season’s best of 45.94 to finish sixth in the 400m at the Gugl Meet in Austria last night.
The race was won by James Harris of USA in 45.33.
The final date for qualification is Sunday 20 July at the GloHealth Senior Track and Field Championships.
Paul Robinson was also in action at the same meet in the 1000m and finished second in 2:18.31 behind Anthony Chemu of Kenya in 2:18.20.
