Anne Keenan-Buckley has stepped down as manager of the Irish cross-country team.

The resignation comes just five weeks before the European Cross Country Championships in Budapest. 

Keenan-Buckley is a former World Championship team bronze medallist, and was in charge of the Ireland team for the under-23 men’s gold medal in 2010, and for Fionnuala Britton's gold medal last year in Slovenia.

Teresa McDaid, an experienced coach and international teams' manager, is to take over the role.
