Sprinter Dwain Chambers still hopes to get his Olympic ban overturned in time for the 2012 Games as he looks to finish his sporting career on the track.

The 30-year-old former European 100metres champion is waiting to hear if he will be offered a contract by engage Super League side Castleford after spending a month on trial with the Tigers.

Chambers turned to rugby league after finding himself frozen out by UK Athletics, with the governing body's chief executive Niels de Vos trying to impose stricter sanctions against former drug cheats.

Chambers - who tested positive for designer steroid tetrahydrogestrinone (THG) in 2003 - won silver at the World Indoor Championships earlier this year but he has found himself shunned since.

He has outlined his desire to represent Great Britain at the Olympics for the second time after finishing fourth in Sydney in 2000.
