Day two at the Woodie's DIY Irish Indoor Championships in Belfast saw another afternon of exciting action.

The day opened with the championship's best performance in the shot by Kieran Kelly of the Fr Murphy Club with a best of 18.20m and he followed that up with a second effort of 18.09m.

Ailis McSweeney continued her return to form in the 60m and showed her younger competitors that she has a lot more to offer with second place behind guest winner Anyika Onuora.

Peter Coghlan made a successful return to competition by winning the 60m hurdles in a time of 7.80 to set a new Championship Best Performance.

The high jump saw American Jamie Nieto set a new Irish All Comers record of 2.26m.

The men's long jump also saw an interersting tussle as Stephen Fleming set an early lead of 6.25m.

He then successfully defended that lead despite of the efforts of Jaroslav Dobrovodsky from Slovakia who came within 1cm and Eoin Hannon who was a further 1cm back.
