Fionnuala Britton sprinted away on the final lap to win the women's race at the National Inter-Club Championships in Sligo.

Britton win comfortably by around 80 metres from Mary Culen, with Deirdre Byrne in third place.

The men's race was won by Gary Murray from Clonliffe. Mark Conneelly came in second, followed by Joe Sweeney in third.

The club titles went to women of North Belfast and the men of Clonliffe.

John Coghlan, son of Eamon, won the junior men's race, while the junior women’s champion was Rebecca French O'Carroll.
